Competition Rules
The competition will consist of an Area Qualifier and the final to be held at RWHS. Each BRC area is entitled to run one qualifier for each of the six classes, which are:

David has had enquires from a few clubs asking if riders who competed at the Novice Dressage Qualifier at Princethorpe can compete in the Open Dressage Qualifier on 17 July at MKEC. The simple answer is no they cannot;
BRC Rule G6.3 states
“A pony or horse may only compete in one of the Novice, Intermediate or Open sections in the same discipline of a BRC Official Competition in the same competition year (1 April to 31 March)”
Just to let you know what a great Festival our Area riders had, we gained placings in 16 classes.
We now have the following National Champions:

As you are all aware we are now checking all riding hats at BRC Championships and, providing they fully comply with the current standards we are tagging them with a blue BRC Hat Tag, if not already tagged by BE (yellow) or Pony Club (purple). Even if a hat is tagged by BE or Pony Club it must still be presented for check at a BRC Championship.
The current BRC Hat Standards are:

At the Winter Championships at Hartpury last weekend we rejected over 20 hats for non compliance (I am pleased to say none were from Area 5). One of the most common problems was that the hat was shown as BSEN1384 but there was no BSI Kitemark, both are required.
Can you please make all your riders aware of the BRC Rules G22.2 (pages 18 & 19 of the 2011 BRC Rule Book) appertaining to the above standards and the wearing of correct hats whilst mounted, whether competing or not.
